IND’s Ganpat Kalu Gaikwad won Kalyan East assembly seat in 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections by a margin of 745 votes. Runner-up Gopal Ramchandra Landge of SHS bagged 35612 votes. Third position was held by BJP's Vishal Vishnu Pawshe. Fourth came Nilesh Shivaji Shinde while Nitin Maharu Nikam of MNS got the fifth spot.
