Vaijapur is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha consituency is a part of the Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat. All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s Imtiaz Jaleel Syed won this seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of 4492 votes.
NCP’s Bhausaheb Patil Chikatgaonkar won Vaijapur assembly seat in 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections by a margin of 4709 votes. Runner-up R. M. Wani of SHS bagged 48405 votes. Third position was held by INC's Dr. Dineshsbhau Pardeshi. Fourth came Ekanath Khanderao Jadhav while Ramhari Karbhari Jadhav of PWPI got the fifth spot.
