Sangli is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha consituency is a part of the Sangli Lok Sabha seat. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sanjaykaka Patil won this seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of 164352 votes.
BJP’s Dhananjay Alias Sudhir Dadahari Gadgil won Sangli assembly seat in 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections by a margin of 14457 votes. Runner-up Madan Vishwanath Patil of INC bagged 66040 votes. Third position was held by SHS's Pawar Pruthviraj Sambhaji. Fourth came Patil Suresh Adgonda while Adv.swati Nitin Shinde of MNS got the fifth spot.
