Maharashtra Municipal Election Results 2026 Live: Voting for Maharashtra’s civic elections was held on Thursday, covering 2,869 seats spread across 893 wards in 29 urban local bodies. As many as 3.48 crore electors were registered to choose among 15,931 contestants, with 1,700 candidates in Mumbai alone. While Mumbai has single-member wards, the remaining 28 civic bodies follow a multi-member ward system. The counting of votes in the closely watched contest between the Mahayuti alliance and the Thackeray cousins is scheduled to commence today at 10 am.
