Umred is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha consituency is a part of the Ramtek Lok Sabha seat. Shiv Sena’s Krupal Balaji Tumane won this seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of 126783 votes.
BJP’s Parwe Sudhir Laxman won Umred assembly seat in 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections by a margin of 58322 votes. Runner-up Bansod Rukshadas Mokasrao of BSP bagged 34077 votes. Third position was held by IND's Raju Deonath Parwe. Fourth came Meshram Sanjay Narayanrao while Abhyankar Jagannath Motiram of SHS got the fifth spot.
