Aurangabad West is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha consituency is a part of the Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat. All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s Imtiaz Jaleel Syed won this seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of 4492 votes.
SHS’s Sanjay Shirsat won Aurangabad West assembly seat in 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections by a margin of 6927 votes. Runner-up Madhukar Damodhar Sawant of BJP bagged 54355 votes. Third position was held by PREP's Gangadhar Sukhdevrao Gade. Fourth came Dr.jitendra Ankushrao Dehade while Milind Yashwantrao Dabhade of NCP got the fifth spot.
