Will 'Operation Sindoor' Impact IPL 2025? BCCI Breaks Silence - Report

'Operation Sindoor' is considered India's most significant cross-border military action in over 50 years.

India has launched a major military operation targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK).

The missile strike, carried out late Tuesday night, eliminated several terrorists and hit nine specific targets. The Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy worked jointly in what has been named Operation Sindoor, a symbolic response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

According to Defense Ministry, the strikes destroyed four camps in Pakistan - including key sites in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot - and five more in POJK.

The operation is considered India's most significant cross-border military action in over 50 years, aimed at top leaders of banned groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Operation Sindoor sparks concerns over IPL 2025

Following the operation, tensions have escalated between India and Pakistan, raising concerns about the continuation of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

However, a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source told ANI that there will be no changes to the tournament's schedule. All IPL matches will go on as planned, and the board is monitoring the situation closely.

Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen several disruptions over the years, including delays and changes in venues due to various situations. However, the tournament has never been completely called off and has always been held in one form or another.

India destroys 21 terrorist camps in 9 regions

At a press conference on Wednesday, senior officials from India's Army, Navy, and Air Force outlined the details of the precision airstrikes conducted in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

No military installations were targeted, nor was there any collateral damage as specialised weapons were used in the operation. Operation Sindoor was based on credible intelligence inputs and the locations were selected to avoid any damage to civilian infrastructures and loss of civilian lives.
