India has responded strongly to the Pahalgam terror attack, executing a precise strike on nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). This action - Operation Sindoor - has led to the destruction of several terrorist bases.

The attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives, has now been avenged. This retaliatory strike has stirred pride and a sense of unity among Indian cricketers.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also voiced his support for the operation, sharing a powerful message on X. He stated that "India's shield is her people" and emphasized that "There's no room for terrorism in this world."

On April 22, 2025, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, resulted in the tragic death of 25 Indian tourists and one Nepali national.

In the aftermath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that India would deliver a strong response. On April 29, during a high-level meeting with the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with the CDS, NSA, and senior ministers, the Prime Minister stated that the armed forces had been given a free hand to decide the timing and nature of the retaliation. The decision to take decisive action was finalized soon after.

As a tribute to the women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam attack, India named its retaliatory strike "Operation Sindoor".
