Ranchi Ground Report: Students Expand Protest Beyond JPSC-JSSC Exam Row

The Jharkhand student protest in Ranchi is gaining momentum as students continue their agitation against alleged irregularities in JPSC, JSSC, and other government recruitment examinations. Protesters say their concerns go beyond a single exam and demand a complete reform of the recruitment system. They allege repeated paper leaks, delayed examinations, cancelled vacancies, and years of uncertainty have damaged students’ careers. Students at the protest site are demanding transparent exams, fresh examinations where irregularities occurred, and a reliable investigation process. Aspirants highlighted the example of the LDC recruitment process, claiming that repeated delays have wasted several years and affected their age eligibility. Support for the movement is also increasing, with teachers and supporters arriving from different states. A teacher from Prayagraj said repeated paper leaks across states are hurting students who prepare for years. The protest site has seen a significant rise in crowd participation, with students insisting that the government must take concrete steps to restore trust in the recruitment system.
