Rahul crossed the 1000-run mark during the third ODI vs South Africa, achieving this feat while scoring 21 runs from 35 deliveries, including two boundaries.

Throughout 27 ODI matches this year, KL Rahul has amassed 1060 runs at a commendable average of 66.25 and a striking rate of 87.74. His performance includes two centuries and seven half-centuries.

The first wicketkeeper to accomplish this milestone for the team was former Indian captain MS Dhoni. Back in 2007, Dhoni accumulated 1103 runs across 33 ODI innings, averaging 44.12. During this period, he notched a century and seven half-centuries.

Following his achievement, Dhoni continued his remarkable form in subsequent years.

In 2008 and 2009, MS Dhoni amassed 1097 runs and 1198 runs at an average of 57.73 and 70.47 respectively.
