The rear for example has a cover for the charging cable and not the spare wheel as the standard G Wagen. Other styling attributes include a 3D star and a roof rack with a LED strip. The EQG is based on the ladder frame chassis which promises the off-roading prowess that this car is famous for. The EQG has four electric motors and has a 2 speed gearbox. These motors are wheel mounted and will supply even better torque for offroading as compared to the diesel or petrol version. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)

The EQG would be a big step for the G-Class and the production version is expected to come in 2025 .  For this year, Mercedes-Benz has promised lots of launches including new SUVs and EVs too.
