Mercedes-Benz To Show EQG Concept At Bharat Mobility Show

At the inaugural Bharat Mobility Show, Mercedes-Benz will showcase its EQG electric concept. Here is a sneak peek of the off-roader.

At the inaugural Bharat Mobility Show, Mercedes-Benz will showcase it's EQG electric concept. Here is a sneak-peek of the off-roader.

The EQG is the electric avatar of the G-Class and will be shown in a near production form as it previews an electric future for this off-roader. The EQG looks similar to the G-Class but has EQ styling cues embedded. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)

The rear for example has a cover for the charging cable and not the spare wheel as the standard G Wagen. Other styling attributes include a 3D star and a roof rack with a LED strip. The shape of the EQG is similar to the G Wagen but many changes are done in relation with the EQ brand. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)

The EQG is based on the ladder frame chassis which promises the off-roading prowess that this car is famous for. The EQG has four electric motors and has a 2 speed gearbox. These motors are wheel mounted and will supply even better torque for offroading as compared to the diesel or petrol version. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)

Inside, the EQG will come with different EV styling touches also including a big screen plus a different cabin design. While the EQ cars have the hyper screen, it remains to be seen whether the EQG will have this or not. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)

The EQG would be a big step for the G-Class and the production version is expected to come in 2025 . For this year, Mercedes-Benz has promised lots of launches including new SUVs and EVs too.
