The hotel was reportedly crowded with devotees who had arrived at Tarapith Temple on the occasion of the third Shravan Monday. Panic spread among those staying at the hotel as flames engulfed the building. Firefighters and police teams reached the spot, brought the fire under control and rescued people trapped inside.
