PSL 2025: 3-Wicket Haul Propels Hasan Ali To 'World Number 1'

Hasan Ali picked up 3 wickets for just 27 runs in his four-over spell, dismantling the Quetta batting order with his sharp line and length.

In the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 on Friday (April 18), Karachi Kings secured a dominant 56-run win over Quetta Gladiators in a match that turned out to be historic for fast bowler Hasan Ali.

With an outstanding bowling performance, Hasan not only led his team to a convincing win but also achieved a major personal milestone in PSL history.

Hasan Ali reaches new heights

Hasan Ali picked up 3 wickets for just 27 runs in his four-over spell, dismantling the Quetta batting order with his sharp line and length. With this performance, he became the highest wicket-taker in PSL history, surpassing Wahab Riaz's record of 113 wickets.

Hasan now holds the top spot with 116 wickets, becoming the first bowler ever to reach this mark in the league.

Match Highlights

Karachi Kings posted a solid total of 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets after batting first. James Vince was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a fluent 70 runs that included six fours and one six. His knock earned him the Player of the Match award.

In reply, Quetta Gladiators could never gain momentum and finished their innings at 119 for 9 in 20 overs.

Saud Shakeel top-scored with 33, while Mohammad Amir contributed 30. Apart from Hasan Ali's three wickets, Mohammad Nabi and Abbas Afridi chipped in with two wickets each to ensure a big win for Karachi.
