Saif Ali Khan Stabbed: Three Held By Mumbai Police For Questioning

Mumbai Police have taken three household staff members in custody in connection with the stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.

Three household staffers have been held by the Mumbai Police in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case. After detaining the three, the police took them to the police station where they will be questioned.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at 2:30 AM. A burglar reportedly entered the actor's home, and during the confrontation, the thief attacked Saif, leaving him injured. Saif is currently receiving treatment at the Lilavati Hospital. The police have now issued a statement detailing the situation.

A part of the knife pierced his spine during the attack and was left lodged there. But couldn't cause paralysis, hospital sources said. "The surgery was very delicate; it’s nearing completion now," hospital sources told ABP News around 9:42 AM.

There was no sign of a break-in. The police suspect an insider could be involved in the attack as it is not easy to enter the high-security Sadguru Sharan Society, where Saif Ali Khan's residence is located. Kareena Kapoor Khan was present at home during the attack.

The burglar apparently entered the actors' home and got into an argument with the household staffers. When Saif intervened, the suspect attacked him.

Saif Ali has sustained six injuries in the attack. He has a 10-centimetre cut mark on the back of his neck and on his left hand. Some object has entered his back, which is serious. He underwent a 2.5-hour surgery after the attack.

Saif Ali Khan's Team Issues Statement

Soon after he was hospitalised, Saif Ali Khan's team issued a statement, saying: "He is currently in the hospital and is undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. This is a police matter. We will keep you updated on every situation."
