Saif Ali Khan Was Rushed To Hospital By Son Ibrahim, Attacker Identified: What We Know So Far

Actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in a late-night scuffle with an intruder at his Mumbai residence and was rushed to the hospital by his son Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Saif Ali Khan Attack Update: Actor Saif Ali Khan who was brutally stabbed in a late-night scuffle with an intruder at his Mumbai residence was rushed to the hospital by his son Ibrahim Ali Khan. 

Ibrahim, who is also an actor, lives at some distance from his father's home in Bandra and took him to Lilavati Hospital following the attack where he underwent multiple surgeries. 

The Bollywood actor was stabbed six times with two of them being deep cuts while one was near his spine, doctors at the hospital said. 

• Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-IX, Dikshitkumar Ashok Gedam said the accused has been identified and will be arrested soon. He used the fire escape staircase to enter the house for an attempted robbery. 
• "Ten different investigative teams are working on the case. Our investigation has revealed that one accused entered the actor's house using the fire escape. So far, our findings suggest that this was an attempted robbery," said the police official while speaking to reporters. 
• "Efforts are underway to arrest the accused as soon as possible. One suspect has been identified, and he used the stairs to enter the premises. Further investigation is ongoing," he said further. 
• The authorities at Lilavati Hospital said the actor suffered a major injury to his thoracic spinal cord in the attack and the knife lodged in his spine led to his spinal fluid leaking.
• Concern over the law and order situation was raised by the film fraternity and the opposition parties. 
• Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal slammed the Devendra Fadnavis government saying that this was not the first attack on a celebrity, referring to the shooting outside Salman Khan's residence last year and the assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique. 
• Actor Pooja Bhatt also raised concern about the increasing lawlessness in Mumbai. She urged authorities to take immediate action and increase police presence in the city to ensure the safety of its residents.
• During the attack, Khan's maid Ariana was also injured and underwent treatment at Lilavati Hospital where Saif, too, was operated on for six injuries he sustained during the attack.
