Saif Ali Khan's House Help Ariana Also Injured In Attack, But 'Not Out Of Police Radar'

Saif Ali Khan Attacked: Saif Ali Khan's maid, Lima, was injured during a break-in at his residence, where she raised the alarm and Khan intervened.

Actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked early on Thursday at his Bandra residence.

Saif Ali Khan News Update: A maid at Saif Ali Khan's residence was also injured in the late-night attack that unfolded at the Bandra society. She is undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital where Saif, too, was operated on for six injuries he sustained during the attack.

Police will also probe if the maid was involved in any manner. Her statement of the maid will be recorded. Since there was no sign of a break-in, the police suspect that the maid might have facilitated the entry of the alleged thief.

Her statement will be recorded after her medical treatment. Apart from this, the statements of 3 persons from Saif's staff are being recorded.

The police in a statement said: "A person entered the room of actor Saif Ali Khan's son Jahangir on January 16 at 2.00 AM. Saif's housekeeper Ariama Philips, alias Lima, reportedly caught him and raised an alarm. Alerted by her screams, Saif Ali Khan came forward and sought to intervene. This is when he was attacked by the 'thief' with a sharp weapon."

The police said both Saif and his housekeeper were injured in the attack.

Senior police officers reached the Satguru Sharan Society in Bandra where Saif Ali Khan and his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan live. CCTV footage is being inspected for clues.

The investigation so far has indicated that the attacker entered Saif Ali Khan's residence at least two hours before the attack. CCTV footage from two hours before the incident was examined but no one could be seen entering the house.

Saif Ali has sustained injuries in this attack. He has a 10-centimetre cut mark on the back of his neck and on his left hand. A piece of the knife used in the attack was reportedly lodged in his back.
