Saif Ali Khan Was Stabbed In His Thoracic Spinal Cord, Spinal Fluid Leaked: Lilavati Hospital Doctors

Saif Ali Khan suffered a thoracic spinal cord injury due to a knife wound. The knife caused spinal fluid leakage, requiring surgery to remove the knife and repair the leak.

Saif Ali Khan suffered a major injury to his thoracic spinal cord in the early hours of Thursday, the Lilavati Hospital authorities said. A knife lodged in his spine led to his spinal fluid leaking. "A surgery had to be performed to remove the knife and also repair the leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds — on his left hand and one on the neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team," Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital said.

Uttamani said Saif Ali Khan is stable and out of danger now.

Saif Ali Khan was attacked around 2 AM at his Bandra flat in the Satguru Sharan Society, Mumbai. The investigation so far has revealed that the incident was a burglary gone. The burglar has been identified and is believed to have fled to Prabha Devi by train. A police team has been despatched to the Prabha Devi area to look for the suspect.
