Reliance Jio customers experienced significant connectivity problems today, with many reporting difficulties accessing mobile internet and frequent call drops. The issues appeared to vary by region, but reports indicated that users in Mumbai were particularly affected.

Jio Issues Statement

In response to the complaints, Reliance Jio issued an official statement attributing the disruption to technical difficulties. “This morning, some Jio customers in Mumbai faced problems in availing seamless services on account of minor technical issues. The same have been resolved, and seamless services of Jio have been fully restored. We regret the inconvenience to our subscribers,” a spokesperson for the company said.

According to Downdetector, a website that monitors service outages, there has been a marked disruption in both mobile and fiber internet services from Reliance Jio.

The data indicated that 68 per cent of users reported issues with the mobile network, while 37 per cent experienced problems specifically with mobile internet access. Additionally, 14 per cent of users noted issues related to JioFiber services.

Reports Of Fire At Data Centre

Further complicating the situation, a Reuters report cited sources claiming that a fire at a Reliance Jio data centre was a contributing factor to the widespread network issues. “The fire has been contained, and the servers are expected to resume operations shortly,” the source informed Reuters.

As users expressed frustration on social media, the technical difficulties prompted discussions about the reliability of Jio’s services. Some customers shared their experiences, detailing interruptions in both voice calls and internet connectivity that hampered their daily activities.
