Nothing Listens: CMF Phone 2 Pro To Include Charger In India, Confirms Company Head

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is set to make its global debut on April 28, but Indian buyers are in for a bonus.

In an era where smartphone makers are steadily phasing out in-box chargers, Nothing is doing something different — at least in India. The tech startup’s upcoming CMF Phone 2 Pro will include a power adapter in the retail package, a move that directly responds to user feedback.

Customer Demand Drives Change

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is set to make its global debut on April 28, but Indian buyers are in for a bonus. Akis Evangelidis, co-founder of Nothing and President of Nothing India, confirmed that the smartphone will be bundled with a charger — a departure from the company's earlier approach with the CMF Phone 1, which launched without a power brick.

The announcement came via a post on X (formerly Twitter), where a fan pleaded for the inclusion of a charger in the upcoming model. “Please give charger in the box please please only Nothing can do it. we really need it,” the user wrote.

Evangelidis replied with assurance:

Limited to India – For Now

While this decision has earned praise from Indian fans, it's unlikely to be replicated globally. The wording of Evangelidis’ response suggests the in-box charger will be an India-specific perk. In other markets, the box contents are expected to remain minimal — likely just the phone and a charging cable, keeping in line with broader industry trends.

The shift is noteworthy considering the CMF Phone 1 supported 33W fast charging, but customers had to buy the charger separately. Nothing offers a 33W Power charger, along with more powerful 65W and 100W GaN accessories — all sold separately until now.

What Else to Expect at the Launch

The CMF Phone 2 Pro will mark the second smartphone offering under the CMF sub-brand, following the debut of the CMF Phone 1 in July 2024. Alongside the new handset, Nothing is also launching an updated audio lineup — the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus — reinforcing its growing hardware ecosystem.

With its India-first approach and direct engagement with fans, Nothing seems intent on standing out in the mid-range smartphone market — not just with design and features, but also with decisions that reflect what users actually ask for.
