What Fixes Does iOS 17.7 Bring?
Among the key fixes, two significant vulnerabilities in the iOS Kernel have been addressed. One flaw, labelled CVE-2024-44165, could potentially allow network traffic to escape a VPN tunnel, while another, CVE-2024-4419, could permit unauthorized Bluetooth access by malicious apps. Another notable patch (CVE-2024-44171) resolves an issue where attackers with physical access to a device could control nearby devices via accessibility features.
Though many of the patched vulnerabilities focus on availability and privacy, making them less appealing to attackers, security experts still urge iPhone users to stay updated, especially if they use their phones for work. Cybersecurity professional Sean Wright advises users to either install iOS 17.7 or upgrade to iOS 18 for enhanced security.
The iOS 17.7 update is available for models including iPhone XS and later, several iPad Pro models, and recent iPad and iPad Mini generations.
iOS 18 Goes Live

Users are encouraged to clear storage, back up their data, and ensure their device is fully charged before installing the large update, which began rolling out at 10:30 pm IST.
