Meta Owned Instagram Now Lets User Translate Messages In DMs, Music Sharing Made Easy

One of the most notable features is message translation, which allows users to convert messages into their preferred language without leaving the chat window.

Instagram has rolled out a series of new features aimed at enhancing the direct messaging (DM) experience for users. The latest update introduces message scheduling, real-time translations, chat pinning, and music sharing, along with a QR code-based group chat invitation system.

These additions aim to improve accessibility, convenience, and engagement within conversations.

What Updates Has Instagram Introduced?

One of the most notable features is message translation, which allows users to convert messages into their preferred language without leaving the chat window. At launch, the feature supports 99 languages, enabling seamless communication between users speaking different languages. Instagram has stated that Meta will be notified of messages selected for translation, ensuring a smooth and secure experience.

Another key addition is message scheduling, a functionality that mirrors a similar feature introduced on iPhones with iOS 18. Users can now compose a message, hold down the send button, choose a preferred time and date, and send it later. Additionally, the update allows users to set reminders, ensuring important messages aren’t forgotten.

Instagram has also improved its chat organization tools by expanding the chat pinning feature. Previously, users were limited to pinning up to three entire conversations at the top of their inbox. With this update, individual messages within a chat can now be pinned, making it easier to find important information. To use this feature, users simply need to hold down a message and select the ‘Pin’ option.

The update also enhances the way users interact with music within chats. Now, users can share a 30-second preview of a song directly within their conversations without having to leave the app. This feature applies to both one-on-one and group chats. By accessing the sticker tray, tapping on the “Music” option, and selecting a song from the audio library, users can instantly share a preview with their friends.

Finally, Instagram has introduced QR code sharing for group chats, simplifying the process of adding new members to conversations. Instead of manually inviting participants, users can now generate a QR code for a specific group chat and share it with others. By scanning the code, new members can instantly join, making it a more efficient way to expand group conversations.

With these new features, Instagram aims to enhance user convenience, streamline communication, and make messaging more interactive. As the platform continues to evolve, these updates position it as a more dynamic and user-friendly space for digital conversations.
