Bard AI Gets New Updates To Improve Summaries, Information Sourcing
Google's Bard can now help identify the sections of a response that correspond to a particular source.
Google has introduced a new update for its AI chatbot Bard, enhancing its ability to provide concise summaries of information and offer transparency regarding the sources used. According to Google, the improved summarization capabilities in Bard are a result of advancements made in their large language models.
With this update, users can now request Bard to summarise specific articles or stories or provide brief explanations of topics without delving into excessive detail. Google aims to make information more accessible and easily digestible for users.

In addition to the summarization feature, Google has also focused on enhancing the usefulness of sources in Bard's responses. The chatbot can now help identify the sections of a response that correspond to a particular source. When a response is sourced, numbers are displayed alongside it. By clicking on these numbers, users can pinpoint the corresponding section of the text and navigate to it effortlessly, thus establishing greater transparency and credibility.

This marks the third update to Bard that Google has rolled out this month. Furthermore, after initially launching Bard in the UK and the US with a waiting list, Google has now removed the waiting list and expanded the availability of the AI chatbot to over 180 countries and territories, including India. Additionally, Bard has been made accessible in Japanese and Korean, with Google on track to support a total of 40 languages in the near future.
