Alcatel's Betting Big On E-paper Display For Its Upcoming V3 Series. A Bonus Inside Box As Well

With the official launch slated for May 27, Alcatel’s V3 lineup is shaping up to be more than just another mid-range offering.

Alcatel is gearing up to introduce something truly unique to the Indian smartphone market. With a teaser campaign now live on Flipkart, the company has confirmed that its upcoming V3 series will be the first in the country to feature NXTPAPER display technology — a proprietary full-colour electronic paper screen promising eye comfort, vibrant visuals, and the feel of real paper, all in one.

A Display That Feels Like Paper, But Pops Like OLED

NXTPAPER is not just another screen upgrade. This 4-in-1 patented technology blends full-colour output with paper-like texture and eye-friendly brightness, aiming to deliver a consistently comfortable viewing experience — whether under harsh sunlight or in the dead of night. Alcatel claims the innovation will raise the bar for both content consumption and productivity.

The display comes with four tailored viewing modes, including:

  • Regular Mode for daily usage,
  • Ink Paper Mode that mimics the look of an e-book reader,
  • Max Ink Mode, which can stretch usage up to 168 hours (7 days) of immersive visuals,
  • and another Regular Mode, accessible through a dedicated NXTPAPER Key for effortless switching.

Camera Ready for Any Scene

The upcoming phone isn’t just about the screen. Alcatel has also revealed a triple-camera setup on the V3 series, led by a 108MP ultrapixel main sensor. According to the teaser, the phone also includes an 8MP ultra-wide lens — ideal for group shots or landscapes — and a 2MP macro sensor designed for close-up photography.

These specs suggest Alcatel is positioning the V3 as a solid all-rounder, combining strong imaging capabilities with innovative visual comfort.

Stylus, Case, and Fast Charger Included

In an era when many brands are phasing out in-box accessories, Alcatel is opting for generosity. The V3 series will ship with a stylus, a custom case designed to store and show off the stylus, and a fast charger — a bundle aimed at creatives and professionals who need a device that can keep up.

With the official launch slated for May 27, Alcatel’s V3 lineup is shaping up to be more than just another mid-range offering. It's a statement in user-centric innovation.

The technology combines the comfort of paper-like viewing with vibrant colour output and eye-friendly visual experience, making it ideal for all lighting conditions, whether during the day or at night, Alcatel said. Max Ink Mode offering up to 168 hours or 7 days of immersive display.

Stay tuned — Alcatel may be about to flip the script on what a smartphone screen should feel like.
