Netizens Go Gaga As Venus Williams Partners With Kyrgios For Wimbledon Mixed-Doubles
Nick Kyrgios, the Australian tennis star had asked for a mixed-doubles partner on social media a week ago. Now, he has a partner in the form of Venus Williams. The tennis world can't keep calm after two of the most likeable personalities in the sport are coming together.
London: The most prestigious tennis tournament, Wimbledon is around the corner. Although most eyes would be on Roger Federer who is making a return on grass after a long break, the tennis world has also been talking about the newly formed mixed-doubles team, that of, Venus Williams and Nick Kyrgios.
The 26-year-old Kyrgios is well known for defeating Rafel Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in their first meetings, while Venus Williams is a towering figure who impressed one and all in the early 2000s. This fiery combination of the Aussie Kyrgios and the American Williams has excited a lot of tennis fans.

In 2017, Venus was asked who her dream partner would be, she had replied saying: “I don’t know, I think it’d be fun to play with Nick Kyrgios.”
Venus has won 16 grand-slam doubles titles, out of which 2 were mixed-doubles, both of which were won in 1998. Venus has also won 10 singles titles with her latest coming in the Australian Open of 2017. She was lauded as a great player in the early 2000s but her popularity went down as her sister, Serena took much of the limelight.
