IPL 2025 Points Table: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by four wickets in the third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on March 23 (Sunday). Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK joined Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as the winners in their respective season-openers in the tournament. Earlier on Sunday, SRH registered a dominant 44-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Opting to bowl first at Chepauk, CSK spinners shone with the ball and restricted the arch-rivals Mumbai Indians to 155-9 in 20 overs. Chasing 156, Rachin Ravindra (65*) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (53) helped the Men in Yellow register a comfortable 4-wicket win in the end, with five balls remaining.

Earlier in the day, Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and struck a mammoth 286-6 in 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals, despite fifties from Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel, could only manage to get to 242-6 in 20 overs, losing the match by 44 runs.
