IPL 2025: Ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, here's a look at 10 IPL records that seem destined to remain unbreakable.

Each season of Indian Premier League (IPL) offers players the chance to establish new records and challenge existing ones. Since its launch in 2008, IPL has completed 17 thrilling seasons, during which many iconic figures in cricket have achieved remarkable milestones. However, some records stand out as nearly impossible to break.

Ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, here's a look at 10 IPL records that seem destined to remain unbreakable.

Most runs in an over: Chris Gayle and Ravindra Jadeja share the record for scoring 37 runs in a single over - Gayle achieved this against Prashant Parameswaran in 2011, while Jadeja matched it against Harshal Patel in 2021.

Consecutive wins: Kolkata Knight Riders set a record with nine consecutive victories during 2014 IPL season and followed it up with ten straight wins in 2015.

Highest individual score in an innings: Chris Gayle's 175 runs against Pune Warriors in 2013 stands as the highest individual score in an IPL innings.

Fastest century: Chris Gayle scored the fastest century in IPL history, reaching 100 runs in just 30 balls against Pune Warriors in 2013. This explosive feat remains unmatched.

Highest combined score in a match: In 2010, during a match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, the teams collectively scored 469 runs, with Chennai contributing 246 and Rajasthan 223.

Most runs in a single IPL season: In 2016, Virat Kohli scored 973 runs, including four centuries and seven half-centuries.

Most runs in a partnership: The record for the highest partnership in IPL history was set in 2016, when Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers put together a 229-run stand for the second wicket against Gujarat Lions. Since then, no pair has managed to surpass this feat.

Maiden overs and wickets: In IPL 2020, Mohammad Siraj bowled two maiden overs while taking three wickets.

Most matches as captain: Mahendra Singh Dhoni holds the record for most matches captained in IPL history, leading his team in 226 games before stepping down.
