IPL 2024 Updated Points Table, Orange & Purple Cap: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clinched victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a narrow margin of just one run in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 on May 2 (Thursday), at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Despite being on par with the asking run rate throughout the second innings, RR lost the match on the final ball as Bhuvneshwar Kumar got Rovman Powell out LBW when RR required two runs to win.
Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first. Travis Head’ half-century and Nitish Reddy’s brilliant 76-run knock along with Heinrich Klaasen’S 19-ball 42 runs knock helped SRH to post 201-3 in 20 overs. In reply, RR lost two quick wickets in the form of Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson, both getting out on 0 to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag stitched a wonderful 133-runs partnership before Jaiswal got out. RR looked set for their fifth consecutive win but brilliant overs from Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan saw SRH clinch victory from the jaws of defeat. With the win, SRH are now back to the top-fours in the IPL 2024 Points Table.
