IPL 2021, RR Vs KKR: Rajasthan Royals Solid Performance Dwarf Kolkata Knight Riders With Ease | Match Summary
Rajasthan Royals registered their second win of IPL 2021. KKR, meanwhile has slipped to the bottom of the table.
IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets in Match 18 of IPL 2021. RR outperformed KKR in almost every department. RR were on top of their game since the ball one of the match, they did not allow KKR to take their neck out even once during their batting. The openers started poorly, the middle order couldn’t convert the total in a big score and overall, KKR batting looked to be in shambles.
Plenty to look behind for the KKR captain, Eoin Morgan. His form is also a cause of concern for KKR. Although he was unfortunately run-out today without facing a single ball. Rahul Tripathi’s 36 in 26 balls was the highest score of the day for KKR. Even in bowling, some decisions taken were questionable. For example, Prasidh Krishna bowled his first over in the 14th over. We can definitely see some changes in the KKR side in the next came.
For the Rajasthan Royals, Chris Morris was the man of the match for his bowling performance. The South African picked four wickets and gave away only 23 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Morris was supported well by other quick bowlers from RR. With the bat for RR, Sanju Samson scored the highest 42 balls in 41 balls. Shivam Dube and David Miller also helped their captain chase down the modest total of 134.

Let’s see what the captains had to say after the match:
Eoin Morgan: “The batting let us down. We lacked a lot of intent throughout the whole innings. We were behind the game right from the get-go. Didn’t put the bowlers under enough pressure. RR adapted to the pitch much better. We were probably 40 short which is a lot in a T20 game”
Sanju Samson: “Our bowlers have been doing really well for the last 4-5 matches. There are many options for me to juggle around. Really enjoy captaining them. You could see in his eyes he wanted the competition. He wanted to get the big batsmen out (Morris). Situation of the match demands the way I play.”
