IPL Final, PM Modi-Amit Shah Visit: 6,000 Cops To Be Deployed In Ahmedabad During Weekend
Special security arrangements have been made ahead of PM Modi and Amit Shah's arrival in Ahmedabad for various events and IPL matches that will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Gujarat on May 28 and will participate in several public state functions in various parts of the state, PTI reported. Gujarat minister and state government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani informed reporters about the said visit in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. Notably, Assembly elections are due in Gujarat later this year.
Meanwhile, several Bollywood actors and VVIP guests are expected to arrive at the Narendra Modi Stadium Friday and Sunday for IPL 2022 Qualifier 2 and Final. As per a report in The Indian Express, special security arrangements have been made ahead of PM Modi and Amit Shah's arrival in Ahmedabad for various events and IPL matches (Final and RCB vs RR Qualifier 2) that will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium over the weekend.
From Friday to Sunday, six thousand police personnel will be deployed in the city under special security. To beef up security for the big political and sporting event, State Government has deployed State Reserve Police, Rapid Action Force, and other agencies.
“As many as 17 DCPs, 4 DIGSs, 28 ACPs, 51 police inspectors, 268 sub-inspectors, over 5,000 constables, 1,000 home guards and three companies of SRP will be part of the Bandobast in the coming days,” Sanjay Srivastava, Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad city was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
A 50-minute closing ceremony will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad ahead of the IPL 2022 final match on May 29. Gujarat Titans have reached the finals and will face the winner of the Qualifier 2 clash between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. More than 1 lakh 20 thousand people are expected to arrive at the Narendra Modi Stadium to watch the IPL final.
