T20 World Cup 2022 Points Table: India Stand At Top After Defeating Bangladesh In Group B

KL Rahul and Virat Kohli starred with the bat as both the batters smashed half-centuries.

The Indian team outplayed Bangladesh by five runs in a rain-affected Super 12 encounter in Adelaide on Wednesday. After batting first, India posted 184/6 in 20 overs.  KL Rahul and Virat Kohli starred with the bat as both the batters smashed half-centuries.

The Men in Blue are now placed at the top of the Group 2 table.

In reply to that, Bangladesh fought well with the help of  Litton Das’s brilliant half-century. But then they kept losing wickets in the middle and they failed to reach the total.

On Wednesday, Virat Kohli achieved a massive feat as he became the leading run-getter in men’s T20 World Cup cricket during the Super 12 match against Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav became the number 1 T20I batter.  "Yadav's 51 not out off 25 balls against the Netherlands in Sydney and a valiant 68 off 40 against South Africa in Perth have helped him overtake New Zealand's Devon Conway and Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, who had held the top spot since 4 September this year," ICC said in a release.

India Squad: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma(c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Dinesh Karthik(w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal.
