Stuart Broad & James Anderson's Hilarious Banter: 'Did Red Hair Add Extra Pace'
Broad has a great Ashes 2023 and seeing his bowling many thought that the veteran bowler can easily continue for longer.
Two greats of England cricket Stuart Broad and James Anderson share a great camaraderie both on and off the field as they have played a lot of cricket together. Both have created a huge impact, especially in the red ball format of the game. Both the bowlers bowled with a decent pace and most of the pacers usually boast a bit as to who is quicker. Exactly this is what happened between the duo when a young kid questioned who bowled with more pace.
While talking to Sky Sports, England’s pacer Stuart Broad took a dig at James Anderson being senior to him and also recollected the legendary player’s highlighted red hair in the past.
"Jimmy is four years older than me so I still feel I have got a little bit of pace. But I think you (Anderson) were slightly quicker than me when you had your red hair, did that give you a bit more pace?"
In reply to that, Anderson said, "When I was younger I was quicker. But I think you have been consistently quicker. Consistently 82 miles an hour. I started at 90 and have just fallen away." Broad has a great Ashes 2023 and seeing his bowling many thought that the veteran bowler can easily continue for longer. But then Broad spoke about how he always wanted to take a call on his own terms and especially when he was at bowling at his best.
"I think ultimately most sportspersons don't get to choose the last time they're on the field and the last time they're walking off. I think those memories of walking with my teammates into the changing rooms and giving the people who have helped me a hug, sitting down, and getting the bowling boots out, I felt really at peace with the decision."
Anderson on the other side stated that he has a lot more cricket left especially in the red ball format. Fans will be excited to see him play in the next Test assignment in India if he gets picked up by Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum.
