Sri Lanka's Mathews, Gamage fly back home

All-rounder Angelo Mathews and fast bowler Lahiru Gamage have returned home from Sri Lanka's tour of the West Indies, the cricket board said Wednesday, adding to the country's woes after losing the first Test.

Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Mathews and pacer Lahiru Gamage are to miss the remaining tour of West Indies. This decision was taken after Mathews requested the Sri Lankan Cricket Board to go home owing to some personal reasons. Gamage, on the other hand, conceded an injury by fracturing his finger on the last day of the first Test in Port-of-Spain.

Skipper Angelo Mathews has had a difficult run after being frequently injured and was hoping to make a comeback in this series. Sri Lanka is already trailing behind with 0-1 in the three-match series and would certainly miss him by their side.

All-rounder Dasun Shanaka and left-handed batsman Danushka Gunathilaka are on their way to the Caribbean as replacements for the two.
