Rishabh Pant Health Update: Cricketer Requires Plastic Surgery For Burn Marks

Rishabh Pant Health Update: It is being learnt that Pant was thrown out of the car on impact which saved his life.

India cricketer Rishabh Pant was involved in a horrific car crash at the dawn of Friday on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Reports that have surfaced so far confirm that Pant dozed off while driving and his car rammed into the divider. The impact of collision was such that his vehicle caught fire. However, the 25-year-old was fortunate enough to escape from the window.

The latest health update regarding the Delhi Capitals skipper is that scans have happened at the Max Hospital in Dehradun where is under treatment. Luckily, he hasn't sustained any fractures but will need have to undergo a plastic surgery for burn marks on back and also for injury over right eye on forehead.

It is being learnt that Pant was thrown out of the car on impact which saved his life.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has also given an health update of its contracted cricketer while also assuring best medical care for him.

"Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment," the official media release reads.


"The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase," it further says.

Pant had returned from Dubai post Christmas

Notably, Pant was part of the India's tour of Bangladesh and did contribute in the Men in Blue's victory over the hosts at Mirpur in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was then spotted in Dubai along with MS Dhoni, his wife Sakshi and others.

Pant then returned to Delhi and wanted to surprise his mother for New Year. However, he met with this accident on the way to his home.

A detailed medial bulletin on Pant's condition from the hospital is awaited but doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable.

"Cricketer Rishabh Pant is under the observation of Orthopedics & plastic surgeons. His condition is stable. His detailed medical bulletin will be released once he's examined. Thereafter, we'll take the next steps," ANI UP/Uttarakhand quoted Dr Ashish Yagnik from Max Hospital, Dehradun as saying.

Pant had recently been excluded from India's home series against Sri Lanka. He had reportedly been been asked to report at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for a knee-strengthening rehabilitation programme for two weeks and the left-handed batter was scheduled to leave for Bangalore after this visit to his hometown.
