Roseau, Dominica: West Indies openers played cautiously to return unhurt at 14 for no loss at stumps on Day 2, still 362 runs behind Pakistan's first-innings total of 376 in the decisive third Test on Thursday.

Kieran Powell was 9 not out and Kraigg Brathwaite undefeated on 5 at Windsor Park.

West Indies faced 11 overs in the final session after Pakistan had resumed on 169/2 overnight and made slow progress throughout the day.

Azhar Ali top-scored for Pakistan with 127 and was bowled by Roston Chase after reaching his 14th Test century. He struck eight boundaries and two sixes in his 334-ball knock. Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq was caught behind off Chase for 59 in his 39th test half-century after scoring just eight runs from his first 60 balls. Sarfraz Ahmed was out for 51 in the evening session.

Chase finished with 4 for 103 and Jason Holder got 3 wickets for 71.

Slow scoring by both teams was the theme of the day. Pakistan got 84 runs for the loss of three wickets in the afternoon session off 27.2 overs, reaching 311/6 at Tea.

Earlier, Pakistan went to lunch on 227/3 after resuming on 169/2 overnight, adding only 58 runs in 30 overs for the loss of Younis Khan's wicket.

The 39-year-old Younis, who was trapped leg before wicket by Jason Holder in the ninth over of the day for 18, and the 42-year-old Misbah are both retiring from international cricket at the end of the match.

As the next man in, Misbah was given a guard of honor by the West Indies players - a mark of respect that had also been accorded to Younis on Wednesday.

Pakistan is chasing its first-ever test series win in the Caribbean. The three-match series is level at 1-1 after West Indies recovered from a seven-wicket loss in the first test to win the second by 106 runs.
