New Delhi: Virat Kohli announced his return by taking 17 runs off Tim Southee’s second over during an IPL match against Mumbai Indians in Bangalore.

A shoulder injury had forced Virat Kohli out of action for more than two weeks. The RCB captain returned to action after gaining full fitness and immediately made his intentions clear.

Opening the batting, Kohli hit Southee for six and two boundaries in the third over of the innings.

It was a Kohli special. He started off with a six over long on then followed it up with a well timed pull shot. Southee tried to mix his pace by bowling a slower one but Kohli was up to the mark. He twirled his wrists and whipped it past mid on for another boundary.

Kohli was finally out after playing a superb innings of 62 off just 47 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours to his name.
