Bihar Bharat Tiwari Encounter Case: STF Jawan Reportedly Arrested, Official Confirmation Awaited

In a major development in the Bihar’s Bharat Tiwari encounter case, an accused Special Task Force (STF) personnel has reportedly been arrested, though official confirmation is still awaited. According to sources, the STF jawan was taken into custody from Ara in connection with the encounter that took place on June 17. The case had attracted significant political attention in Bihar, with opposition parties raising questions over the circumstances surrounding Tiwari’s death. Tiwari’s family had alleged that he was fired upon even after surrendering and giving up his weapon. He later died during treatment at a hospital. The matter gained further momentum after Tiwari’s family members met Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on July 24, demanding an impartial investigation and strict action against those responsible. Following the meeting, the government had assured that appropriate action would be taken. The reported arrest of the STF personnel marks a significant step in the investigation, although authorities are yet to issue a formal statement confirming the development.
