Ishan Kishan's Recent Social Media Video After Rahul Dravid's 'Selection' Statement

Ishan Kishan took to X to share a video that shows him meditating, followed by some training and running drills.

Ishan Kishan has become a focal point of discussions with numerous speculations surrounding his absence from the Indian cricket team squad during the India vs Afghanistan T20I series. India secured a 1-0 lead in the series by defeating Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the opener in Mohali on January 11 (Thursday). Kishan has been inactive since choosing not to participate in the South Africa Test series in December 2023 attributing the decision to mental fatigue. Rumours suggested that his subsequent visit to Dubai where he was seen partying might be factors contributing to the team management's decision not to include him in the series on disciplinary grounds.

Interestingly, amidst all these developments, Ishan Kishan took to X (previously Twitter) to share a video. The video begins with Kishan meditating, followed by some training and running drills. Towards the end, he looks into the camera and playfully makes a pistol gesture, shooting towards it.

Rahul Dravid Quashed 'Indiscipline' Rumours

Contrary to the speculations, India's head coach, Rahul Dravid, dismissed all talks regarding the decision to exclude Kishan from the Afghanistan T20Is. Dravid clarified on the eve of the first IND vs AFG T20I that Kishan has not yet made himself available for selection. "Absolutely no disciplinary issue. Ishan Kishan was not available for selection. Ishan requested for a break, which we agreed in South Africa. We supported it. He has not yet made himself available. When he is available, he will play domestic cricket and make himself available for selection," Dravid stated.

However, despite Rahul Dravid’s suggestion, Ishan Kishan has not taken steps to make himself available for selection in his state team, Jharkhand.  The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) secretary, Debasish Chakraborty, mentioned that Ishan has not contacted them regarding his participation, and when he decides to do so, he will be included in the playing XI. "No, Ishan hasn't contacted or told us anything about his availability. Whenever he tells us, he will walk into the playing XI," Debasish Chakraborty told PTI.
