Indian team former captain Sourav Ganguly, 'interestingly' tagged one of the owner of Delhi Daredevils in a tweet. The veteran indirectly hinted, Parth Jindal, to include England star player Joe Root in his team by picking him up in the IPL auction next month. Jindal is also known to be Dada's very good friend.

“What a performance from joe root and england on that surface ..one of the best test hundreds one will see on a pitch which is turning square .. @root66 @ParthJindal11 @ECB_cricket,” his tweet read.

England skipper Joe Root closed in on an attacking century to counter Sri Lanka's spin and push the tourists' second-innings lead to 213 in the second Test on Friday.

Root, who is currently in Sri Lanka playing in the ongoing three-match series, took on the spin challenge to remain unbeaten on 98 off 118 deliveries on day three on a spitting Kandy pitch.

The star batsman stitched crucial partnerships including a 74-run fifth wicket stand with Jos Buttler, who England lead the three-match series 1-0.
