Fit-again Kedar Jadhav features for India A, set for comeback in remaining ODIs against Windies

Kedar recuperated from his injury --- one that has constantly bogged him down in recent times and brought the support staff under scrutiny --- but the selectors insisted on testing him in Deodhar Trophy before naming him for the ODIs again.

Thursday morning sprung a surprise when Kedar Jadhav who injured his hamstring during the Asia Cup, was drafted into the India A XI by the selectors to test his fitness before picking him for the remaining three ODIs against West Indies.

Kedar recuperated from his injury --- one that has constantly bogged him down in recent times and brought the support staff under scrutiny --- but the selectors insisted on testing him in Deodhar Trophy before naming him for the ODIs again.

The selectors had initially named the team only for two one-dayers but haven't yet named the team for the remaining games. The third ODI will be played on 27th and selectors are waiting on Jadhav's fitness before making that call.

Virat had insisted that he will use the remaining games before the world cup -- now 16 --- to play with his first choice batting order and Jadhav is an important part of it. Along with Hardik Pandya, he will form the lower middle order, which often is responsible for giving an extra push to the innings.

While Pandya is yet to regain full fitness from the back injury he suffered during the Asia Cup, Jadhav has been given the go ahead and it remains to be seen if he has, unlike in the past, recuperated completely and will not break down once again with the same injury.

The MRI scans on Prithvi Shaw, meanwhile, revealed no great cause of concerns and he was advised some rest by the physios before picking up the bat again.
