ICC confirms series of changes in playing conditions

The maximum dimensions of a cricket bat will be set at 108 millimeters for width, 67 millimeters in depth and 40 millimeters for the edges.

Players can now be caught, stumped or run-out after the ball strikes a helmet being worn by a fielder or a wicketkeeper

Decision Review System (DRS), meanwhile, will be used in T20 format as well.

The changes will come into effect for upcoming Pakistan- Sri Lanka, South Africa- Bangladesh Test series. While, the remaining matches of the ODI series between India and Australia will be played under existing regulations.

Teams will no longer have their reviews topped up at the 80-over mark in Test matches.

A series of rule changes will come into effect in all international formats of the game and will be effective in all series starting from 28 September or later as International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that they’ve made amendments to the playing conditions.
