Axar Patel attained a historic milestone during 4th Test in Ahmedabad, becoming the fastest Indian to take 50 Test wickets.

It took just 2205 balls for Axar to reach the milestone, when he dismissed Australia’s Travis Head in 60th over of Australia’s 2nd innings.

With this, Axar Patel surpassed premier Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah (2465 balls), who previously held the record. Bumrah is followed by Karsan Gharvi (2534 balls) and R Ashwin (2597 deliveries).

Axar became the fastest player to 50 Test scalps in just 12 Test matches, bowling at an average of 17.06 and strike rate of 44.1.

Axar Patel (264 runs in five innings) ended IND vs AUS Test series as the third-highest run-scorer.
