BMW XM Hybrid Electric SUV Launched In India With An Electric-Only Range

BMW XM Hybrid Electric SUV: Colours on offer are Cape York Green, Toronto Red, Mineral White, BMW Individual Dravit Grey, Black Sapphire, Marina Bay Blue and Carbon Black.

BMW has introduced the XM high performance hybrid electric SUV in India and it is priced at a whopping Rs 2.6 cr ex-showroom which makes it the most expensive BMW SUV. Image Source: Somnath Chatterjee

This is a plug-in hybrid system which delivers a combined maximum output of 653 hp and maximum torque of 800 Nm. The petrol engine makes 489 hp and a maximum torque of 650 Nm while the electric drive system adds around 197 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm. Image Source: Somnath Chatterjee

The XM electric hybrid SUV has a V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor along with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The styling is different to any BMW SUV with the huge illuminated BMW M kidney grille and the large intakes as well. There are slim LED lamps along with slim L shaped rear lights. Alongside the usual performance features, the XM is also a luxury SUV of sorts with a leather covered dashboard, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 20 speakers, a four-zone automatic climate control system and more. Image Source: Somnath Chatterjee
