India Won't Tolerate Nuclear Blackmail, Operation Sindoor New Normal: PM Modi

PM Modi said that 'Operation Sindoor' is India’s policy against terrorism and the operation against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan has drawn a new line against terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said 'Operation Sindoor' is a new normal in the fight against terrorism and that India won't tolerate any 'nuclear blackmail'.

This is Prime Minister Modi's first reaction over Operation Sindoor, which India launched on May 7, two weeks after the terror attack in Pahalgam killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi said that India will take decisive action against terrorist bases and will make no distinction between government-sponsored terrorism and terrorist organizations.

Addressing the nation, PM Modi said Operation Sindoor was not just a name but, through it, the whole world saw India's resolve turn into action and more than 100 dreaded terrorists were slaughtered.

"India will not tolerate any form of nuclear blackmail. We will take decisive action against terrorist bases operating under the guise of such threats. There will be no distinction between government-sponsored terrorism and terrorist organizations. The world witnessed the grim reality of Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, when top officials of the Pakistani military openly stood in solidarity with terrorists. This stands as the strongest evidence of state-sponsored terrorism," the PM said during the address on Buddha Purnima.

The Prime Minister also termed the Pahalgam attack as the most "barbaric face of terrorism" saying it was personal pain for him but the enemy has now realised the consequences of removing "sindoor" from the forehead of our women.

He also said that Operation Sindoor is India’s policy against terrorism and the operation against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan has drawn a new line against terrorism. He said more than 100 dreaded terrorists were slaughtered in the Indian attack on nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan.

"The entire world saw how Pakistani drones were downed by our military might. India has struck at the heart of Pakistan, our missiles attacked with precision to damage their air bases," he said.
