Is 'Visa On Arrival' Available For Indian Citizens In Türkiye?

According to the Indian Embassy in Ankara, Türkiye, the country has banished the 'visa on arrival' facility. All Indian passport holders shall be required to have an electronic visa (e-visa) or a sticker visa issued by a Turkish diplomatic or consular mission abroad in order to be able to enter Türkiye.

For a single-entry visa, Indian citizens are charged USD 51.70 (EUR 47.90), while a multiple-entry tourist visa costs around USD 174.77 (EUR 161.92). Additionally, a supplementary service fee of USD 52.48 (EUR 48.62) is levied by the visa service provider, according to VFS Global (Visa Facilitation Services Global). 

Essential Documents For A Türkiye Tourist Visa From India: 

According to the Indian Embassy in Turkey, the following documents are required to begin your Türkiye tourist visa application:

  • A valid passport, with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of entry into Türkiye.
  • Proof of confirmed hotel reservation, flight bookings, and a comprehensive travel itinerary for your entire stay in Türkiye.
  • A copy of the completed visa application form.
  • Confirmed air tickets to and from Türkiye.
  • Evidence of your financial capacity to sustain yourself during your stay in Türkiye, with a minimum of USD 50 (EUR 46.31) per day.
  • A bank statement reflecting your financial status for the preceding six months.
  • Police Clearance Certificate (PPC) is mandatory unless you have visited the UK, USA, or any Schengen country.

  • eVisa: The Turkish e-visa can be easily applied for through the official website, offering a seamless process that can be completed in as little as 3 minutes. Once approved, ensure you print a copy of the eVisa for your journey.
  • Direct Application: Gateway Globe, an authorised intermediary, facilitates the application for sticker visas on behalf of the Turkish Embassy. The process involves submitting the application form, required documents, and a photograph, followed by scheduling an appointment, fee payment, and application submission. The visa processing time is approximately 15 working days from the date of document submission.

Turkish Tourist Visa Processing Time:

For an eVisa, the processing time is an impressive 3 minutes. However, those opting for a sticker visa can anticipate a minimum processing time of 15 working days from the date of document submission, according to VFS Global.
