Vijay Devarakonda Wears Slippers Worth Rs 199 At Liger Trailer Launch, Stylist Reveals The Reason

New Delhi: Actor Vijay Deverakonda is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the upcoming film 'Liger'. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the makers already have the audience on the edge after giving a glimpse of Deverakonda's power-packed performance in the action-drama.

The 'Dear Comrade' actor looks all set to woo the audience with his enthralling performance. Apart from his exemplary acting skills, the actor is also known for his impeccable fashion sense. During the trailer launch of 'Liger', the actor amused everyone as he arrived wearing slippers with a black t-shirt and cargo pants. While the event saw Ananya Panday slaying it in style in a black dress and Ranveer Singh being at his quirky best, Vijay's simple look was hailed by his fans.

In an exclusive interview to PinkVilla, Vijay's stylist Harmann revealed how Vijay was insistent on making his look closer to his character and keep it kind of an 'underdog' look. She said, "He specifically asked me for the basic chappals and initially I was a little hesitant but I also always trust Vijay’s dressing up ideas because I know he ends up making it the talk of the country."

The popular stylist also revealed that she was super nervous about Vijay Deverakonda's look that included a pair of slippers costing Rs 199."I was constantly nervous as the event was on a big scale, especially in Mumbai, and walking in wearing chappals worth Rs 199 was really brave of Vijay but I'm glad it was received with a lot of love," she concluded.

Directed by Puri Jagannadh, 'Liger' stars Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Pandya and boxing legend Myke Tyson in lead roles. The film also stars Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy and Makarand Deshpande in key roles.

'Liger' will hit theatres on August 25, 2022.
