Uorfi Javed Clarifies Her ‘Bhaad Main Jaaye Ranbir Kapoor’ Remark

Uorfi Javed also posted a video explanation in which she said that she didn't intend any disrespect when she said "Go to hell, Ranbir."

New Delhi: Uorfi Javed is known for her quirky style and has made headlines for all the wrong reasons. She's back in the news because Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor said her outfit was "bad taste" on his cousin Kareena Kapoor's talk show, ‘What Women Want’. To which, Urfi Javed joked and remarked, "Ranbir Kapoor bhaad mein jaaye". She has now claimed that her response to Ranbir Kapoor's criticism was sarcastic and that she only intended it as a joke.

Ranbir Kapoor recently gave his opinion on Uorfi's fashion choices, calling them "terrible taste," during an episode of Kareena Kapoor's talk programme What Women Want. A few days later, though, Kareena Kapoor applauded the social media star. She admired Uorfi's courage and bravery for wearing such unconventional clothing. Kareena told Zoom Digital, "I am not as gutsy as Urfi but I feel it’s extremely brave and extremely gutsy." She also added, "Fashion is all about expression and freedom of speech. I think that the confidence with which she pulls it off, I think she looks really cool and amazing."

Uorfi was thrilled when Kareena recognised her. She revealed to Humans Of Bombay that the fact that Kareena had praised her wardrobe made it irrelevant to hear what Ranbir said. She said, She said, “Bhaad mein jaaye Ranbir, Kareena ne meri tareef kiya hain, ab toh kya hain, Ranbir ki kya aukat hain."

On Monday, Uorfi took to Instagram stories and clarified her comment on Ranbir. She wrote, "I never said this I was just joking k Ranbir bhaad me jaye, Kareena ne Tareef kar di ab. I was being sarcastic, sarcasm, humour. Whatever Ranbir said was his point of view, I didn't find anything malicious in his statement. Sach me bhaad mein jaane ko nahi bola Maine."
