New Delhi: Indian mythological drama ‘Ramayana’ is one of the most popular shows on Television. Originally aired between 1987 and 1988 on DD National, this show gained a lot of popularity and reportedly had a viewership of 82 per cent. The show returned on Television last year after the nationwide lockdown was imposed in India. After the show returned on TV, it broke several records even on a global level and went on to become the most-watched TV show ever in the world.

Star Bharat took to their Twitter account and announced that ‘Ramayana’ will return on the TV screen once again. The show will air every day at 7 pm on Star Bharat.
In Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’, Arun Govil portrayed the role of Lord Rama, Deepika Chikhalia illustrated the role of Sita and Sunil Lahiri played the role of Lakshman. Dara Singh was seen in the role of Lord Hanuman and Arvind Trivedi portrayed the role of Ravana.
Meanwhile, last year, after the nationwide lockdown was imposed in the country due to the outbreak of COVID-19, many mythological shows including Ramayana, Mahabharat, Om Namah Shivai, Vishnu Puran and others were re-telecast. However, Ramayana broke all records with 77 million viewers as of April 16, 2020, reportedly.
