Dipika Chikhlia On Ramayan's Re-Run In 2021: 'Looks Like History Is Repeating Itself'

Dipika Chikjlia shared a post to express her excitement on the re-run of 'Ramayan' on the small screen.

Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’, which was re-telecasted during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, managed to keep the viewers glued to their television screens. The popular mythological show is airing again on Star Bharat everyday at 7pm. Fans are super excited to catch the show on the small screen again.

Dipika Chikhlia, who played the role of Devi Sita in ‘Ramayan’, expressed her excitement on the re-run of her classic show on the small screen. the veteran actress penned a heartfelt post to share the news with her followers on Instagram. She mentioned how the show has been a big part of not only her life but also several Indian families.

“So excited to share that Ramayan will be airing on the small screens again this year! Ramayan aired during the lockdown last year, and looks like history is repeating itself. The show has been a huge part of not just my life, but thousands of Indian families for years. Come be a part of our community and share the knowledge of the Ramayan with generations to come. Tune in to Star Bharat everyday at 7pm to watch Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’,” Dipika wrote.

Last year, the re-run of ‘Ramayan’ grabbed several eyeballs on Doordarshan. Despite airing after several years, the show managed to keep the viewers engaged with its entertaining episodes.  

Star Plus also telecasted the show in an early evening slot for several months. The high TRPs proved that the show was able to connect with modern generation as well. 

Ramayan’ also starred Arun Govil, Sunil Lahri, Arvind Trivedi and Dara Singh in key roles. The show, which was launched on January 25, 1987, aired 78 episodes on the small screen.
