Ankit Gupta Recalls Facing A Casting Couch Situation, Calls It The Worst Experience Of His Life

Ankit Gupta, who became a household name with his show ‘Udaariyaan’,  recalled a casting couch incident from his early days in the industry in a recent interview.

New Delhi: Ankit Gupta became a household name with his show ‘Udaariyaan’, his chemistry with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary was loved by the viewers. He became even more popular with his stint in ‘Bigg Boss 16’ and will now be seen in the show ‘Junooniyat.’

Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor recalled a casting couch incident from his early days in the industry.

Calling it the 'worst experience of life', he said, "I said no- I am not into guys and even if I am, I cannot do this. It was my worst experience. Okay, it is getting adult now. Someone said, 'Okay, you don't want to do it but at least let me touch it. I was shocked and said to myself 'What is happening?"

He also said that people advised him to ‘compromise’ as it is the norm of the industry. “A lot of people, who wanted me to compromise, used to say 'See Ankit aise toh kaam milta nahi hai industry mein. We have launched several people'. They used to take names of biggies, stating that the celebs were launched by him,” he told Pinkvilla.

Ankit had earlier shared that he has a lot of hopes of receiving a positive response from the audience for his show ‘Junooniyat.’

"After having lived in the house of Bigg Boss 16 for 80 days, it's wonderful to come home to this exciting new fiction show premised on the passion for music called 'Junooniyatt'. The audience has showered so much love on me throughout my career and I hope the streak continues with this show," he had said.

Ankit Gupta was last seen in ‘Bigg Boss 16’ where his eviction was termed unfair by his fans. He was voted out by the contestants on the show. Ankit, on the other hand, said that the show was not meant for him.
