Sushant Death Case: Rhea Chakraborty Quizzed By ED For Hours Over Purchase Of 2 Plush Flats In Mumbai

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty on Friday reached ED office in Mumbai's Ballard Estate for questioning in Sushant death case. Since the late actor’s father lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and five others in Patna Police Station, things have totally changed and taken an about-turn in case of allegations. The ‘Jalebi’ actress has been accused of the abetment of SSR’s suicide and money laundering case by his father K.K Singh. Soon after the FIR was registered, Rhea filed a petition in the Supreme Court to transfer the case from Patna to Mumbai. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde had requested ED to exempt her from recording her statement until the Supreme Court hears her plea of transferring the case lodged by Bihar Police to the Mumbai Police. ED, however, rejected the plea post which she was seen entering the agency's office accompanied by her friend for questioning. Reports say ED will quiz her for her two plush flats in Mumbai, one of which is in Khar, and whether she took the funds to buy them from Sushant. She will have to disclose all the documents related to the financial dealings and disclose information of her bank accounts. The ED had lodged a money laundering case against Rhea Chakraborty and her family and directed her to appear before them on August 7 (Friday). On August 3, the Enforcement Directorate has also questioned the late actor’s Chartered Accountant and Rhea’s CA on August 4. However, based on reports, the ED has rejected her request of postponement of the recording and have asked her to join the probe. Summon to Shruti Modi, who is the former business manager of Sushant has also been issued by the ED and have asked her to appear before them on August 7. Also, Siddharth Pithani has been asked by the Central probe agency to appear before it on August 8. The ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s father has claimed that Rs 17 crore was there in Sushant’s account in 2019 and added that Rs 15 crore was later transferred from his account to accounts that were not linked to the actor. K.K Singh also lodged a complaint against the actress accusing her of having full control on his son’s life and taking Rs 15 crore from SSR. The CBI on Thursday lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and five others Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty (her parents), Showik Chakraborty (brother), Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi. The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for criminal conspiracy, cheating, abetment to suicide and wrongful confinement. The ED on Wednesday questioned Rajput's house manager Samuel Miranda. Rajput's father had, in his complaint, alleged that Miranda was hired by Rhea Chakraborty after she allegedly fired Rajput's existing staff.
